This week our Aistear theme was ‘the Supermarket’. We set up a supermarket in the classroom, complete with a cash register and shopping trolley, and took turns playing customers and cashiers. Using magazines and brochures, we also cut out pictures of food to make ‘special offer’ signs and wrote shopping lists. We made food you would find in a supermarket from Play-Doh and even had a go at building our very own miniature supermarkets using Lego.
