Information for reporting to parents, staff and the school community following meeting of the Board 

Agenda and Minutes of  September meeting approved

Critical Incident Policy, Parental Complaint Procedure  approved

The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Dr. Delma Byrne and approved by the Board.

Principal’s Report included reference to proposed Fire Drill and delay in getting response from Alarm company, the arrival of student Play Therapist and student SNA on practicum placement in KRC after mid-term, replacement teacher for Siobhan’s Maternity leave and a proposal to change opening and closing times for the school by 10 minutes each day. Parents will be consulted to gauge response to this proposal.

Building updates: The Chair on behalf of the Board contacted Educate Together re further updates on our accommodation needs and to highlight our concerns around the provision of accommodation within our defined catchment area. Educate Together responded and assured the Board that they are working with the DES but to date they have not been informed of any specific premises to house our school. Contact will now be made with the City Councillors in the Clontarf Ward to ascertain if there is any further news with regard to our proposed location. A question was also tabled with the Education Minister by Aodhan O’Riordan. The response did not provide any new information.

Discussion is still ongoing around the provision of a number of extra curricular activities for the children. Some progress has been made in relation to Rugby.

The Board wishes the entire school community a Happy Halloween.

Information for reporting to parents, staff and the school community following meeting of the Board 

Agenda and Minutes of June meeting approved

Critical Incident Policy, RSE Policy and Parental Complaint Procedure ready for ratification

The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Dr. Delma Byrne and approved by the Board.

The Board recorded its thanks to Acting Principal Siobhan and the staff for the smooth re-opening of the school and the safe return to school for all our children

Correspondence relating to ongoing accommodation for the school was presented to the Board and an agreed response  was drafted.

Building updates: The Chair on behalf of the Board will contact the CEO of Educate Together to get any further updates on our accommodation needs and to highlight our concerns around the provision of accommodation within our defined catchment area.

The entire school community was thanked for its excellent response to safety concerns around nuts and eggs in school lunches.

Discussion is ongoing around the provision of a number of extra curricular activities for the children.

A Fire Drill will take place during this term.

Senior Infants and First Class have been busy learning all about the theme of Space this week. Take a look at the amazing Space Station Louise created for Aistear and all the fun activities they have been up to!

Senior Infants and First Class have been busy learning all about the parts of a plant and what plants need to grow. To support their learning they created and labelled some flowers. Check out the photos! We definitely have some budding scientists and gardeners in KRC!

A huge welcome back to all the children in KRC ETNS! What a wonderful first week back we had! Endless amounts of fun and laughing. We are excited for all the adventures that the new school year will bring. Take a look at some photos of all the exciting things we have gotten up to with our friends!

We still have a number of places available in our Junior and Senior Infant Classes and in our First Class for September 2021.

On Tuesday we had our Sports Day! We had soooo much fun. We did obstacle races, penalty shoot out, wheel barrow races, relay races and played giant Connect 4 and Swingball! Take a look at some photos from the day. We were all very tired on Tuesday evening!

We were so lucky to be able to go on a school tour to St. Anne’s Park on Wednesday, 9th June. We started our day off with a trip to the playground followed by a trip to the farm in the park. We had an absolute ball. Many thanks to Slaine and the gang in the City Farm for being so welcoming! We certainly have some budding farmers in our school!
